Divorce and secular Law.

2) Catholic declaration of a marriage having been "non sacramental" once a secular divorce grants a divorce, in order not to lose converts to the lax Protestant denominations. Declaring the marriage "non sacramental" allows for remarriage, including both parties.

4) The law of alienation of affection is a tort that allows a spouse to sue a third party for intentionally damaging their marriage, typically through interference that leads to divorce. This law is a common law tort that has been abolished in most jurisdictions, but still exists in a few U.S. states. To succeed in a claim, a plaintiff must prove intentional interference by the third party that directly caused the breakdown of the marriage
